Can reviews about bouncers or door policy be removed?
If the review is from someone who was never a customer (refused entry = no service received), it may qualify as irrelevant or spam. Reviews from actual patrons about their experience inside stay, even if negative.
What about reviews with profanity?
Reviews containing profanity, slurs, or threatening language violate Google's content policies regardless of whether the reviewer was a real customer. Strong removal case.
Do bars get more fake reviews than other businesses?
Our scan is not broken down by industry, so we will not claim bars are worse than average. What we can say is that 24.3% of the 369,688 negative reviews we analysed broke a Google policy, and the late-night mix of alcohol, door policy and competitive nightlife scenes produces exactly the categories that dominate that number: spam, off-topic rants, and profanity.
